Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 April 2026
Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of petrolpulse.com.au ("PetrolPulse", "the service"), operated by Mark Schreuder Pty Ltd (ACN: 695 591 630) from Australia. By accessing or using the site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What PetrolPulse is
PetrolPulse is a free informational service that shows live fuel prices sourced from Australian state government price-reporting schemes, along with price forecasts based on global oil market signals and historical price cycles. It is provided for personal, non-commercial use, without any sign-up or account.
Prices are indicative
Fuel prices shown on PetrolPulse come from government feeds that are updated on varying schedules (from every 30 minutes to once daily, depending on the state). Prices displayed can lag behind the real-time price at the pump. Station operators can and do change prices without updating the feed immediately.
You should always confirm the price at the pump before purchasing. PetrolPulse is not responsible for discrepancies between displayed prices and actual prices charged at any station.
Forecasts are predictions, not guarantees
Price forecasts on PetrolPulse are generated from statistical models and public market signals. They represent our best estimate of where prices are likely to move over the coming days, but the energy market is unpredictable and forecasts may be wrong.
Forecasts are shown with confidence levels so you can judge for yourself how much weight to put on them. You use forecasts at your own discretion. PetrolPulse is not liable for decisions you make based on forecasts that turn out to be inaccurate.
Permitted use
You may use PetrolPulse for personal, non-commercial purposes — checking prices, deciding when to fill up, sharing a link with friends. You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download data from the site without written permission
- Use automated tools to access the site at a rate that degrades service for others
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the forecasting logic
- Redistribute or republish prices, forecasts, or other content without attribution
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of Australian law
Commercial use — including embedding prices or forecasts in your own product — requires a partnership agreement. Contact us at the address below to discuss.
Intellectual property
The site design, code, written content, brand, and forecasting methodology are owned by PetrolPulse. Underlying price data is sourced from state government fuel-reporting schemes and is used under the open-data licences those schemes publish under. Brand names and logos displayed on station map pins remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
Third-party links and services
PetrolPulse may link to third-party websites (for example, Google Maps for directions, or state government price pages). We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or availability.
No warranty
PetrolPulse is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of the information shown, and we disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PetrolPulse and Mark Schreuder Pty Ltd are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service, including but not limited to decisions you make based on prices or forecasts shown. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the service is limited to AUD $100.
Changes and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Continued use of the service after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of PetrolPulse at any time without notice. We may also restrict access for users who breach these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Australian courts.
