The Gold Coast pays a tourism premium
The Gold Coast runs some of the most expensive metro fuel in Queensland. The tourist strip through Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach sits well above the Brisbane average, because beachfront demand is far less price-sensitive. The cheaper stations are inland — around Nerang, Molendinar and Robina, where locals actually shop. The rule of thumb here: the closer to the sand, the more you pay.
It tracks Brisbane, but holds the peak longer
Southeast Queensland runs one broad discount cycle. The Gold Coast moves with Brisbane — a sharp jump of 25-40¢/L, then a slow grind down over three to five weeks — but the major brands tend to hold the peak a few days longer here than in the capital. Watching Brisbane's cycle position on PetrolPulse is a reliable lead indicator for when the Coast is about to turn.
Live Queensland data
Queensland's mandatory fuel price reporting scheme means retailers report price changes through the day, so the prices here are close to live across the stations from Coomera down to Coolangatta. The widest spread is usually between the beachfront and the M1 corridor — a few minutes inland can save 10-15¢/L on the same day.
